well once again my weekend was out of this world.
it’s like fortune is in my favor this summer and happiness is kicking me in the face over and over. sometimes, i seriously sit and ponder how i ended up so lucky – especially this summer. it’s out of control.
and i couldn’t be happier.
highlight of the weekend was saturday. it was that one saturday in july the summer of 2014, yeah that saturday was one i’ll always remember.
started off reuniting WIT DAT PHILLY CREW from last weekend.
over to Barbos’s we went. had a few burgers, had a few beers and were on his rooftop (NYC Rooftops are the proof that heaven exists) so it was pretty impossible to imagine the day getting better.
but it did. it did!
we made it to the MoMA PS1 Warm Up Show. this is something i’ve been wanting to do – ferevaaa yo.
before you keep reading, Look here! how could you NOT want to be there?
saying hi to MN! 🙂
that moment when it’s a summer day, good music, good vibes and good people and you look out into the crowd and think, how could anyone EVER leave this place? NYC you’re too good. you’re too goooood.
and then my baby boo, boyfriend material, can do no wrong, favorite artists in the whole entire world was up on the turn tables.
there he is!! cashy cat. meow. not familiar? read this.
he is a music genius. an incredible artist. so maybe you haven’t heard only his beats – but you that artists whose super popular right now, Ariana Grande? – cashycat produced a lot of her sounds he’s also produced and been featured with maroon 5, jeremih, ludacris and more.
Listen to him here.
and mah gurl UNIIQUE was there.
learn about her here!
these sounds may be a lot for some people. the genre and mixes can be intense and attract only a certain crowd. in fact, i sent some tracks to a friend the other week when her response was “what the heck, this is weird”
absolutely right. they are weird sounds and beats.
i’ve been to my fair share of these shows this year in the city, and they are the most fun shows i’ve ever experienced. what makes these shows what they are, is that – there aren’t any back up dancers, or musical instruments or really anything. it’s only the artist and their turn table. with only a turn table, it’s up to them to engage the crowd. i mean, you have to be one pretty damn talented individual to accomplish that. i’ll forever be a fan of music. any kind, but country. (surprise i went to school in wisco!) but, music can do no wrong. oh also, MoMA PS1 Warm Up is also referred to the dance party of summer. do you know how much i love grooving? i can’t remember the last time i didn’t have a dance party – alone. the vibes were so good you guys.
hands down, the.funnest.day.of.summer.
side note: i really really really miss my three amigos. 8 days down, 18 to go.
happy monday. happy happy monday.
